To walk with our Lord in His kingdom, we must give up our right to react to outward stimuli and act from inward directions given by the Spirit of Christ. 

Our Lord gave us the example:

1Pe 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:
